The annual Community Choir Christmas Concert will be performed on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Woonsocket Community Center.
Starting off the concert will be the Spirit of Faith Lutheran/Methodist Bell Choir, and then the Community Choir will sing the cantata “Come Let Us Adore,” which consists of a variety of Christmas songs, some familiar and some new, all beautiful and inspiring.
There is no charge for the concert, but everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the Sanborn County Food Pantry. Any monetary offering will be donated to the Senior Nutrition program.
Following the concert, everyone is invited to stay for the potluck meal.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the evening as it kicks off the holiday season

The regular meeting of Unit 29 American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 with President Dawn Rassel presiding. Judy Stenzel, chaplain, led the opening prayer.
The minutes of the October meeting and treasurer’s report were given and approved. A bill was presented for the dictionaries and Constitution pamphlets and approved for payment.
Dayna Opsahl gave a report on her experiences at Girls State and thanked the Unit for sponsoring her.
A newsletter from Linda Holmes, District 6 President, was read and discussed. The mid-winter conference is scheduled for Feb. 10-12, 2017, in Oacoma. Christmas stockings are due by Dec. 5.
Vicki Linke displayed two of the prayer pillows that were made to be given to veterans at the VA facilities. It is a new project for the veterans.
Plans were made for the Veterans Day supper on Nov. 11 and a Christmas tree at the courthouse.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn adjourned the meeting.
Bingo helper for November is Karen Kogel, and bars will be furnished by Barb Maurice. Cookies for the Prairie View Healthcare Community Bingo in November will be furnished by Barb Maurice and Cathy Hegg.

Hope Circle met in the home of Barb Coulthard on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.,m. Attending were JoAnn Schladweiler, Jacki Aymar, Jannet Larson, Mary Ann Hopper, Audrey Kempf, Ruth Jensen, Vicki Linke, Vickie Hines, Evelyn Mitzel, Sue Larson and Barb Coulthard.
Following the meal, Vicki Linke, chairman, called the meeting to order.
Sue Larson, recorder and treasurer, gave her report. JoAnn Schladweiler, W/ELCA, treasurer also gave her financial report.
The Christmas Cantata entitled “Come Let Us Adore” will be performed by the Community Choir on Sunday, Nov. 20, in the Community Center at 5 p.m., followed by a potluck supper. An item for the Sanborn County Food Pantry will be the admission price. Any cash received will go toward the Senior Nutrition program.
The circle will once again sell candy trays to benefit our mission quilting projects. JoAnn Schladweiler has applied for Thrivent Team Action funding for this event. Trays will be sold on Dec. 18 following worship services.
Vicki Linke applied for Thrivent Team Action funding for the fruit baskets, which Hope Circle packs in December for various people for Christmas.
Eighteen “Operation Christmas Child” shoeboxes were packed for the Samaritan’s Purse organization. All of South Dakota’s boxes will go to children in Mexico again this year.
The December meeting will be on Dec. 8 in the Sue Larson home at 5:30 p.m.
The Bible study lesson was entitled “Paul and the Power of Failure”.
