The Woonsocket American Legion Post 29, along with the Legion Auxiliary, is committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
We support youth activities, including attendance at Boys and Girls State, and lunch for the annual senior class trip to Pierre, provide an annual Veteran’s Day supper for our veterans and families, as well as school staff, and also have annual expenses for flags and supplies.
To help fund Legion activities, we have hosted Bingo for over 30 years, but are finding that this is not providing the monies needed anymore.
Your Legion Post members are excited to host a Texas Hold ‘Em style poker tournament fundraising event this Saturday, April 8, at the Woonsocket Community Center. A pulled pork sandwich meal will be served for a free will offering at 6 p.m. Dealing begins at 7 p.m. Coolers are welcome and set-ups will be available.  There will be payouts for first, second and third place with amounts based on the number of participants.
