On Saturday, Aug. 25, the SCW cross country team traveled to Mitchell for its first meet of the 2018-2019 season. It was a beautiful morning for a run, and the Blackhawks finished well for their first competition this year.

In the JV boys 3K run, Gabe Freidel finished 25th. In the varsity girls 4K run, Hannah Terkildsen finished 23rd, and Trinity Boschee came in at 46th. 

For the varsity boys 4K race, Spens Schlicht came in at fourth place, just one minute and three seconds behind first place. Austin Schmit finished in 20th, Jeff Boschee finished 24th, and Braxton Gentles came in at 27th place.  

The Cross Country team will run its next meet on Sept. 6 in Wessington Springs for the 281 Conference meet.
