MITCHELL – Many Dakota Wesleyan University students were honored on Friday, April 27, at the 2017-18 Honors Banquet held on campus.

Students were recognized for honors in scholarship and for active participation in a variety of campus clubs or events. In addition, alumni medals were presented to outstanding students in various academic departments.

Local students who received honors are as follows: 

Breanna Couch of Woonsocket, Irene Grace Wendt Endowed Scholarship in the nursing field; 

Rex Schlicht of Woonsocket, Education Learning Through Service Scholars Award for future educators;

Lindsey Thompson of Woonsocket and Rex Schlicht, Honors in Scholarship for students in current attendance and a grade point average of 3.5 or above;

Rex Schlicht, Scholar-Athlete Award;

Morgan Selland of Forestburg and Denise Slavik of Artesian, Psi Chi, a national honor society in the psychology; 

Denise Slavik, Pi Gamma Mu, a national honor society fraternity for students in social sciences.
