Sawyer Senska runs a lap in the 1600 meter race at the track meet in Miller on Friday. Senska performed well for the SC/W boys’ team earning first in the high jump and eighth in the mile run.

The Wolsey-Wessington Jimmy Rearick Meet was held on Friday, April 27, in Miller.  Both SC/W teams came away with third place finishes. The boys accumulated 85 points and the girls amassed 87 points.

The teams had several top place winners and got consistent scoring from all athletic events. Spens Schlicht won the 300 meter hurdles for the second time this year in two tries. Caycee Guinn took home her first title in the 400-meter. Trey Ulmer won the 100-meter dash, and Sawyer Senska won his first high jump competition.

The team has three meets before regions with a trip to Freeman on May 1, Howard on May 7, and the 281 Conference meet on May 8. SC/W hopes to keep making gains as the meets continue.
