A Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Volleyball Cancer Awareness Night and Fundraiser will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Sanborn Central gym during the girls’ volleyball game against Bridgewater/Emery. Abby Vermeulen, a Sanborn Central senior volleyball player, is organizing the event as part of her senior project. 

T-shirts have been designed for the event. If you need an order form, please call either the Sanborn Central or Woonsocket school. 

During the game, there will be multiple fundraiser events including a chili feed, bake sale and silent auction. The girls’ volleyball players will also be selling luminaries in honor of people who have cancer, who have fought cancer, or have lost the battle with cancer. 

The proceeds from the shirts, chili feed and luminaries will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network. The proceeds from the Silent Auction baskets will be donated to Mrs. Reimer, Sanborn Central second grade teacher, who is currently receiving treatments for cancer.
