Flooding reroutes traffic through Woonsocket

Some very heavy rainfall on an already heavily saturated area of our state caused severe flooding and thus, closure of a portion of I-90. This brought a detour for I-90 traffic to Highway 34 and right through the town of Woonsocket. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem, but now that school is in session, and the school is directly attached to the highway, there was a need for some traffic control once school was dismissed for the day on Thursday last week. School personnel and Deputy Sheriff Josh Starzman did their best to keep traffic slow while children went home from school.
