Homecoming Week coming up

By Supt. Rod Weber

School has just started and Homecoming Week is right around the corner.  Homecoming will start on Monday, Oct. 7 and continue through Friday, Oct. 11. The designated days for “Spirit Week” as voted on by the Student Council include:

Monday, Oct. 7 – Meme Monday;

Tuesday, Oct. 8 – Class Theme Day;

Wednesday, Oct. 9 – Celebrity Day;

Thursday, Oct. 10,  – Throwback Thursday;

Friday, Oct. 11 – Spirit Day – Blackhawk Gear – Go Blackhawks!

On Monday, Oct. 7, Coronation will begin at 8 p.m. in the Woonsocket Gym.  There will be introductions for Football/Volleyball/Cross Country/Cheerleaders, etc. and other activities including burning of the “W” built by the freshmen class.

On Friday, Oct. 11, the Woonsocket School will have their annual parade starting at 1 p.m.  The theme this year (voted on by the student council) is “Places Around the World.” Businesses who are interested in participating in the parade can sign up when lining up for the parade at 12:30 p.m. by PVHC.  The football game against the MVP Titans will start at 7 p.m. in Forestburg.

I’m also asking students and alumni to be respectful towards our community when celebrating traditions during the week of festivities.

Homecoming is arriving quickly and we hope the community gets involved as much as the school.  This is one of the biggest events of the year, so let’s make it memorable for everyone. Go Blackhawks!
