Letcher Town Board proceedings

January 3rd, 2019

Mayor Chada called the meeting to order with Hoffman, Larson, and Meier in attendance. 

A motion was made by Larson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve December 20th, 2018, minutes as read.

A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Larson, carried, to approve the financials as presented.

A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Larson, carried, to approve wages for 2019 as listed:

Mayor – $100.00;

Trustee – $80.00;

Finance Officer – $18.50;

Water Superintendent/Tester – $200.00;

Custodian – $18.50;

Meter Reader – $80.00;

Lost Time – $30.00;

Mileage Reimbursement – $0.58;

Grounds/Summer Help – $12.00-$15.00 DOE;

West Nile – $90.00 per person a time;

A motion was made by Larson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve the Official Newspaper and Lawyer for the Town of Letcher for 2019 as listed:

Official Newspaper – Sanborn Weekly Journal;

Lawyer for 2019 – Tim Bottum with Morgan Theeler LLP.

Old Business: Discussion was held on the water sample report.

Discussion was held on past due accounts.

The Board went over dates for meetings for 2019: January 3rd and 22nd, February 5th and 19th, March 5th and 19th, April 2nd and 16th, May 7th and 21st, June 4th and 18th, July 2nd and 15th, August 6th and 20th, September 3rd and 17th, October 8th and 22nd, November 5th and 19th, December 3rd and 23rd

New Business:  

Discussion was held on Election information for the newspaper and circulating petitions. Election date – April 9th, 2019. Petitions can be picked up through January 25th, 2019. Petitions are due back on February 22nd, 2019, by 5:00 p.m. Mark Chada’s term is up for re-election. It is a three-year term.

A current listing of the Letcher Volunteer Fire Department personnel has been received. The current listing is: Curtis Adams, Sean Gromer, Aaron Roth, Chuck Amick, Ed Hoffman, Ken Stach, Clay Amick, Tim Hoffman, Bob Steckel, Darin Amick, Mark Jensen, Lacey Swenson, Jane Amick, Shanna Jensen, Cindy VanLaecken, Dave Brooks, Clay Kidder, Murray VanLaecken, Mason Bruns, Matt Meier, Rod Clarambeau, Rich Moe, Andy Ettswold, Shawn Moody, Melanie Ettswold, Tara Morris.

Discussion was held on land available where a cell phone tower could be placed.  

A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Larson, carried, to approve the following claims for payment: 

General AND WATER/SEWER:  Angie Meier – $61.00 – wages finance officer,  James Fridley – $184.70 – wages water superintendent, Michael Hoffman – $73.88 – wages meter reader, NorthWestern Energy – $936.42 Lagoon – $15.00, Water Plant – $175.31, Street Lights – $455.33, Lift Station – $82.34, Rossy Park – $26.27, Community Center – $171.58, Water Valve – $10.59, Angela Larson – $273.90 – wages custodian, Department of Environment and Natural Resources – $6.00 – certificate for 2019 dues for Jim Fridley, Department of Energy and Natural Resources – $150.00 2019 water fees, Miedema Sanitation – $18.00 – garbage removal, Hoffman Digging and Well Repair – $2,101.49 – snow removal. 

The next board meeting will be held on January 22nd, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
