On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA Chapter had their very first SCW FFA Family Kick-Off Grill Out, and they hope to make it an annual event. Originally, the event was going to be at the Woonsocket softball fields, but due to the weather, they moved the event inside to the Sanborn Central Gym. The grill out was created as a fun way to kick-off the school year for FFA members and their families. At this event, Miss Ronning and the chapter officers told members and their parents of the events that they have planned for the year, answered any questions and got to know the new members and parents. Along with the meeting, they grilled hamburgers, and the members brought desserts and salads. They finished the evening with some fun, competitive dodgeball and corn hole games.
