Senior project promotes public safety awareness

Katie Schmit, a senior at Sanborn Central introduced each of the three speakers she invited to speak for her senior project about self-defense and protection.

As part of her senior project, Katie Schmit, a senior at Sanborn Central, invited three guest speakers to do presentations at the Sanborn Central and Woonsocket schools on Monday, Nov. 25. The topic of Schmit’s project is “Stop Violence – Be informed, be prepared!” With all the scary situations that are reported on in the news every day, Schmit thought it would be a good idea to do something to try to help keep the people in our schools and communities safe.
