Tour of Tables post prom fundraiser held last Sunday

A huge crowd filled the Woonsocket Community Event Center on Sunday afternoon for the Tour of Tables fundraising event to raise money for the post prom party.

Since no one in Woonsocket had planned to organize a Tour of Tables event like what has been done in the past, the junior class decided to take advantage of the opportunity and put one together to raise some of the funds needed for the post prom party this school year.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, a large crowd worked their way around 19 creatively decorated tables in the Woonsocket Community Event Center. Each of the juniors was asked to sell at least 10 tickets in advance for the event, and once the total number of advance tickets was tallied, the juniors’ parents determined how many tables would be needed. Each junior was asked to put a table together, and they could partner up with someone if they wanted to. Some families did more than one table just to make sure everyone had a seat, whether they bought an advance ticket or a ticket at the door. There were tables decorated in fine china, some with decorative paper plates and some with toys. Some had freshly baked pie at their table, while others had chilled beverages on ice at theirs. There was definitely something for everyone to enjoy.
