Junior high girls’ basketball season gets started

By Rob Baruth

The first junior high girls’ basketball games of the season were on Monday, Dec. 14 at Sanborn Central. In the first game, the seventh-grade teams played, and we lost a very good game in sudden-death overtime, 24-23.

All of the girls are working hard and improving every day at practice and games. They play good defense and are working on cutting down on turnovers and scoring around the basket better. They are such a fun group of girls to coach! They share the ball very well and work well together.

The next game for the junior high was on Monday, Dec. 21 in Mt. Vernon. They are then on a break until January when school resumes.
