Following the training, 29 4-Hers joined in the fun and participated in eight different events throughout the afternoon. Jennifer Martinez of Ethan was given the task of judging the many events.  Ribbons were awarded to the top six finishers in each class of beginner, junior and senior participants. Points were totaled and Grand Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons and prizes were awarded to overall beginner, junior and senior participants.  This event is sponsored by Sanborn and Jerauld/Buffalo Counties.

There was a lot of activity and buzz all over Woonsocket on Saturday, Oct. 30. The beautiful weather helped the huge vendor fair in the gym draw a large crowd with shopping on the agenda. The Fall Frenzy event held at the Dumont Boutique and the Grand Opening of the Muddy Cup, both in Woonsocket’s business district, encouraged shoppers to get a head start on their Christmas shopping and to keep as much of their shopping local as possible. Keep on the lookout for more great shopping opportunities to come before Jesus’ birthday!

When the WWTS youth met on Wednesday, Oct. 27, a lot of fun and games were had. First, the group practiced the songs that they would perform for the church service on Oct. 31.

Kara and Judy Wormstadt presented the puppet play “The Two Builders.” All of the youth dressed up as Bible characters and then told the Bible story about the characters they were. There were angels, Noah and Mrs. Noah, Roman soldiers, King David, King Herod, Queen Esther, ark animals, Mary and baby Jesus, and the Bible. A game of charades was played using the last seven Bible lessons studied for the ones the kids acted out and others tried to guess what Bible story it was. Of course, there were lots of yummy treats for everyone to enjoy.
