Spelling Bees were conducted in grades third through sixth at Sanborn Central. Participating schools may send one speller to the Mitchell Area Spelling Bee. The area contest will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, on the campus of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell. This tournament does not send spellers onward to further or higher competitions. 

Grade level winners include:  third – Keira Pollard, fourth – Colton Nelson, fifth – Brooklyn Larson, and sixth – Ledoux Bracha. 

Grade level alternates include: third – Whitney Adams, fourth – Kelly Wilson, fifth – Carley Edwards,  and sixth – Sophie Kelly.
