Westen White and Cain Zoss partnered on their Teen Leadership Academy (TLA) service project to create a Can Bank to benefit the Letcher community. The Can Bank is located behind Clover Park, just off Main Street in Letcher.
Community members are encouraged to donate aluminum cans (bagged in plastic). All proceeds will support the Town ’N Kountry Blue Group 4-H club.
The Teen Leadership Academy is open to 4-H youth ages 13-18 and gives participants opportunities to strengthen leadership skills, complete community projects, and prepare for the future. Members take part in public speaking, career exploration, and networking with 4-H peers from other counties.
The Can Bank project was made possible through a grant from Central Electric for supplies and signage. Big Dog Concrete donated the concrete and labor for the pad, and Chada Construction provided labor to hang the signs and secure the panels.
