Kimball

Herbert W. Gossel, 90, of Kimball passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell.
Funeral services were Monday morning, April 14 at Kimball Protestant Parish with a committal service following in Kimball Community Cemetery. A prayer service with visitation was held Sunday evening, April 13.
Herbert W. Gossel was born on June 21, 1923 to John and Sophie (Marken) Gossel in Bridgewater. He attended Sievers Country School near Bridgewater. He married Frances Friman on March 27, 1951 in Hurley. To this marriage two sons were born.
Herbert worked at the Emery Elevator, Spencer Elevator and Christensen Elevator in Kimball. In October 1971 he purchased the Kimball elevator and started the Kimball Grain Co. with his sons
Herbert married Adeline Hantke Brearley on Aug. 6, 1976 in Nashua, Iowa, expanding his family with three step-children.
He was a member of Kimball Protestant Parish and the Kimball Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his sons, David and Gary both of Kimball; two step-children, Barbara (Michael) Crandell of Sioux Falls and Loren Brearley of Kimball; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Heiter of Emery; several sisters- and brothers-in-law, including Edith Moe of Letcher; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Frances on Sept. 7, 1974 and Adeline on July 27, 2013; his parents; a sister, Betty; a brother, Lester; and a step-son, Richard.

Emma Lou Kogel obituary photo Emma Lou Kogel, age 90, of Huron, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at her home. Her memorial service will be held at a later date this summer. Emma Lou Wipf was born Sept. 14, 1923, to Joe E. and Katie (Hofer) Wipf in Onida. On Aug. 2, 1947, Emma married Clarence Kogel. They lived in Washington state where she worked as a lunch aide for public schools. Emma was a member of the Living Hope Alliance Church, where she was part of the ladies group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona. She also liked to sew, cross-stitch, cook and being active in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; their son, Dennis at age two; and her siblings, Josephine Spiller, Maurine Boone, Betty Engel and Benny Wipf. farrell jamison 4 001    Farrell Augusta Jamison, 95, of Woonsocket, died Wednesday evening, April 9 at the Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 14 at the United Methodist Church in Woonsocket with Rev. Rhonda Wellsandt-Zell officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery. Visitation was at the Basham Funeral Home on Sunday with a prayer service.
Farrell A. Jamison was born at Arlington on Aug. 21, 1918 to Carl and Agnes (Larson) Angel. She graduated from Brookings High School.
On Aug. 4, 1937, she was united in marriage to Robert Henry Jamison at Ramona. Following their marriage they lived in Havre, Mont. for several years and then moved to Brookings and Presho. They  moved to Woonsocket and remained there until their deaths. Farrell was a 60+ year  resident of Woonsocket. She worked at Padmore Pharmacy for many years and then at Van Dyke Supply after Padmore Pharmacy closed.
Farrell was a member of the United Methodist Church, WSCS and taught Sunday school for many years. She helped start the annual fall supper. She was a 60+ years member of PEO and she belonged to the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay (Roger) Jorgenson  of Woonsocket and Peggy  (Jim) Larson of Parker; her sisters, Joanne Williams of Big Sandy, Mont., and Joyce Frangik of Kalispell, Mont.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brothers, Don and Jack; and granddaughter, Annette.
