Emma Lou Kogel, age 90, of Huron, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at her home. Her memorial service will be held at a later date this summer. Emma Lou Wipf was born Sept. 14, 1923, to Joe E. and Katie (Hofer) Wipf in Onida. On Aug. 2, 1947, Emma married Clarence Kogel. They lived in Washington state where she worked as a lunch aide for public schools. Emma was a member of the Living Hope Alliance Church, where she was part of the ladies group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona. She also liked to sew, cross-stitch, cook and being active in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; their son, Dennis at age two; and her siblings, Josephine Spiller, Maurine Boone, Betty Engel and Benny Wipf.
