Alice Kroger, 81, of Mitchell, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 1 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial was in the Coleman Cemetery in Colman. Arrangements were under the direction of the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Alice Marie Kroger was born Sept. 3, 1932, at Lane to Carl and Connie (Dunbar) Lang. She grew up and attended rural school at Woonsocket.
On Oct. 17, 1951, she married Robert Kroger at Luverne, Minn. She had been a resident of Mitchell since 1977 and was a nurse’s aide at Brady Memorial Home for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Alice is survived by six children, Patricia Palmer of Mandan, N.D., Kathleen (Roger) Eide of Oldham, Thomas (Debra) Kroger of Hutchinson, Minn., Christine (Frank) Krohmer of Mitchell, John (Beth) Kroger of Louisville, Colo., and Robert (Annette) Kroger of Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Kroger, in 1958, and her husband, Robert, in 2002.

Karl Mees Obituary photo Karl Ralph Mees, age 89, of Alpena, died Friday night, March 28, 2014 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 4 at the United Parish of Alpena with Rev. Derek Baum officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery at Alpena with military rites by the Owen-Kunze Post #116 of Alpena. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Kuhler Funeral Home with his family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Karl Ralph Mees was born Feb. 24, 1925, to Phillip and Carrie (Hettich) Mees in Jerauld County, near Alpena. He received his education in country schools. Karl was a veteran serving in both the US Navy and the US Army. He farmed southwest of Alpena until 1965 when he moved to Alpena. He was also a bulk gas delivery truck driver for a number of years. Karl was a member of the American Legion, Owen-Kunze Post #116 of Alpena, the National Rifle Association and the United Parish of Alpena. Karl was also a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was known for his ability to repair small engines. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Alpena; two sons, Richard (Linda) Mees and Wayne (Vicki) Mees, both of Alpena; two daughters, Joanne (Walter) Hein of Wessington Springs and Jeanette (Richard) Jones of Woonsocket; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Karolina Marsh of Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Harold Mees, Evelyn Ramberg, Lucille Mathews, Milton Mees, Elizabeth Miller and Alice Mees.

David Wayne Reinfeld, 59, of Ethan, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after a prolonged battle with lymphoma.
Memorial services were Saturday, March 29 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Armour. Visitation was before the memorial service at the Chapel.
David Wayne Reinfeld, son of Willard and Margaret (Bell) Reinfeld, was born May 3, 1954, in Wagner. He grew up and attended school in Delmont.
He was united in marriage to Diane Prickett on April 10, 1976 in Mitchell and the couple made their home in nearby Ethan.
Dave was a career trucker and spent his first decade in the business driving for Fran Feiner. He later went into business for himself, becoming the owner and operator of Reinfeld Trucking and continued to drive truck for the next 26 years while leased to GTL/Nashfinch.
Dave was both adept at and enjoyed mechanical work, performing much of the maintenance on his trucks himself. He also spent time helping family and friends repair anything with a motor. Dave enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling extensively over the last 15 years both in and outside of the country with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Reinfeld, Ethan; three daughters, Tara (Randy) Filter, Ethan, Amber (Scott) Muehl, Sioux Falls, and Falyn (Tim) Reinfeld-Pieschke, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; his mother, Margaret Reinfeld, Armour; two brothers, John Reinfeld, Montgomery, Ill., and Marvin (Brenda) Reinfeld, Ethan; and three sisters, Barbara (Ed) Tellier, Lincoln, Neb., Marilyn (Gene) Bartunek, Armour, and Sherry (Glen) Wudel, Letcher.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Willard Reinfeld and two nephews.
