The Lady Blackhawks endured their first loss of the season to number two-rated Warner in a Hanson Classic make-up game Saturday afternoon at Forestburg.
SC/W went into the half down just one point, but were unable to keep up down the stretch. The score at the final buzzer was 48-35.
Myah Selland led the Hawks with 14 points. Marissa Weber had six points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Shelby Selland also grabbed six boards.
SC/W went just 15-of-54 from the field and 6-of-17 from the free-throw line. The Blackhawks committed 26 turnovers.
Warner was led by Ashley Rozell with 31 points.
The Lady Blackhawks dropped to 9-1 going into Monday night’s game at Hanson.

The Hanson Classic game versus number two-rated Warner originally scheduled to be played last Saturday evening in the Corn Palace has been rescheduled for this Saturday afternoon at Forestburg.
The junior varsity game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (7-0) is currently rated number three in the SDHSAA Sportswriters Polls, dropping behind Warner (10-0) in power points with 25 versus the Monarch’s 33. Warner also carries with them one first-place vote in the polls.
Both teams continue to sit behind number one-rated Summit, last year’s state champion. Summit is 9-0 with 44 power points and has eight first-place votes in the polls.
