SHELBY SELLAND LED the Blackhawk effort last Tuesday with 20 points. The Lady Hawks are set to meet Highmore-Harrold in the 281 Championship Thursday night in Huron.

The SC/W Blackhawks swept Kimball/White Lake in all four match-ups last Tuesday evening at Woonsocket.
In varsity boys’ action, Davion Brooks’ 22 points led the Blackhawks to a 60-53 win.
Todd Stekl tossed in 16 points, while Nick Miller brought down 11 rebounds and had eight assists. Brooks also grabbed 10 of SC/W’s 32 boards.
The Hawks shot 23-of-45 for 51 percent from the field and 9-of-18 from the stripe. SC/W turned the ball over 13 times.
The WiLdKats were led by Jacob Kirsch with 15 points, while Jesse Taylor and Trevor Reinesch each had 12. They were 20-of-58 from the field and 9-of-15 from the line. K/WL amassed 25 rebounds and committed 20 turnovers.
K/WL fell to 5-2 with the loss.
The junior varsity boys also came away with a win.
The SC/W girls rounded out the evening with a 59-45 win led by Shelby Selland’s 20 points.
Myah Selland had 15 points while Rachelle Moore added 10.
The Lady Hawks went 26-of-56 from the field and 5-of-9 from the free throw line. They had 21 turnovers.
K/WL was led by Haley Mohnen and Maria Nightingale, each with 11 points. The WiLdKats shot 14-of-51 from the field.
K/WL fell to 5-3 with the loss.
The JV Lady Blackhawks also won their game, 25-14.

SENIOR TODD STEKL drives for the basket. Todd had a game-high 16 points last Tuesday versus K/WL.

The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket boys improved to 8-1 with a 75-59 win over Sunshine Bible in the first round of 281 Tournament play, Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Krueger led his team with 20 points and five assists. Nick Miller put 16 through the nets, while Davion Brooks added 12. Miller also grabbed nine rebounds and made five assists.
The Hawks went 27-of-50 from the field and 4-of-10 from the free-throw line. The team had 27 rebounds.
Brady Brochel led SBA with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Drew McClain added 13 points.
The Hawks moved on to meet JVC in the second round of the 281 Tourney Tuesday night at Huron.

 

 

 

 

The SC/W Blackhawk boys suffered their first loss of the season Thursday night with a 55-73 loss to James Valley Christian at Sanborn Central.
Nick Miller scored 21 points to lead his team in the fight. Tyler Krueger added eight points. The Hawks shot 20-of-48 from the field and 67 percent, 12-of-18, from the stripe.
Davion Brooks grabbed eight boards, while Miller got seven of the team’s 36 rebounds. Krueger also assisted his teammates six times. The Blackhawks had 20 turnovers.
Adam Hofer led the Vikings with 29 points.
JVC improved to 6-0 with the win, heading into the 281 Tournament.
