COLE MOODY

ABIGAYLE FRY AND SARAH BAYSINGER

From the 600 recorded auditions submitted, three local students were among the 170 voices selected to participate in the 2013 SDSU Elementary Festival Honors Choir.
Fourth, fifth and sixth graders, including Sarah Baysinger and Abigayle Fry of Woonsocket School and Cole Moody of Sanborn Central School rehearsed throughout the day on Feb. 7.
Under the direction of Ms. Karen Bruno, Director of the Lawrence Academy of Music in Appleton, Wis., the choir presented a 4:45 p.m. concert in the South Dakota State University Performing Arts Center at Brookings.

The annual Woonsocket Elementary Parent Club Bingo and Silent Auction was held this past Sunday in the school gym with a large crowd in attendance.
Bingo was played beginning at 4 p.m. and winding up around 7:30.
A great number of silent auction items were donated again this year including an autographed Twins baseball and Skyforce, Watiki Water Park and Omaha Zoo tickets to name just a few.
The WEPC was able to raise just over $4,000 which will go towards the elementary teachers’ wish lists for their classrooms.

A GREAT crowd turned out to spend a gloomy Sunday playing Bingo.
