Sanborn Central High School announced their fourth quarter honor roll recently.
“A” honor roll (3.495 – 4.0) – seniors: Logan Effling, *Josh Feiner, *Tom Hetland, Tyler Johnson, Tucker Kingsbury, *Tamra Mann, *Bailey Moody, *Dillon Moore, Clayton Sewall; juniors: *Garrett Dean, Logun Feistner, Devin Garret, Kayla Olson, *Myah Selland, Madalyn Vermeulen; sophomores: Catherine Bechen, Trent Kingsbury, Sarah Morgan; freshmen: Renee Farmer, *Madison Moody, Austin Schmit, Sawyer Senska and Abigail Vermeulen.
*Asterisks denote a 4.0 GPA.
“B” Honor Roll (2.995 – 3.494) – juniors: Lorrie Eppe; sophomores: Koby Larson.
“Students of the Quarter”: senior – Dillon Moore; junior – Logan Feistner; sophomore – Koby Larson; freshman – Sawyer Senska.

Bailey Moody web 41    Bailey Moody, daughter of Perry and Tracy Moody of Letcher, received the Mark Nelson $500 Memorial Scholarship for 2016.
Bailey plans to attend Dakota State University for elementary education/special education for her undergraduate degree, and then attend the University of South Dakota for occupational therapy. She would like to become an occupational therapist in the educational system.

Monday, May 30, Memorial Day services were held at the Letcher Community Hall.
Commander Darwin/Butch Morrison was the emcee and an invocation was given by Pastor Garry Swagger.
Guests of the day participated in the Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner.
“In Flanders Field” and “America’s Answer” were both read by Samantha Dean.
Commander Morrison recognized 60-year members, Norman Thompson, Marvin Northrup and Charles Schafranek.
Justin Morrison was the speaker and gave a very interesting talk about his deployment to Iraq.
Harry Northrup read the roll call of the departed comrades.
Miss Poppy Sophia Kelly placed the wreath in memory of the Unknown Soldiers.
Taps was played by Jonathan Linke.
Several members of the Tormey-Stach American Legion Post 93 gave Salute to the Departed Veterans.
The benediction was given by Pastor Garry Swagger.
Coffee and rolls were served by the Letcher American Legion Auxiliary to a crowd of about 110.
