Recognition 1 web 14 Recognition 2 web 14    Sanborn County 4-H held their annual Recognition Event on Nov. 12 at the 4-H Building in Forestburg.
Rex Schlicht received the 4-H Key Award Medal, the most prestigious award a 4-H member may receive.

Food Pantry 14 web    Woonsocket Community Club Secretary/Treasurer, Emily George, presented Diane Larson and Lynn Brueske of the Sanborn County Food Pantry a check for $200 to help with their expenses for the Feeding South Dakota food giveaways.  The next giveaway is Dec. 7 at the Community Center (weather permitting). Volunteers are needed and welcome.

Two Woonsocket natives were arrested recently in connection with a string of burglaries in Mitchell.
Ben Amadon, 22, of Mitchell and formerly of Woonsocket, was arrested last Wednesday for possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a person with a prior drug felony. Amadon was reportedly in possession of a .357 caliber handgun that was believed to have been stolen from a Mitchell vehicle.
Upon a search of Amadon’s home, police found trace amounts of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and over 3 ounces of marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Josh Weber, 22, of Woonsocket, was also arrested in connection with these firearms thefts, last Wednesday in Woonsocket. Weber was also in possession of a .357 handgun allegedly taken from a Mitchell vehicle. He was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a person with a prior drug felony.
Seven total firearms were apparently stolen from Nov. 4-14 in Davison County. Andrew Kiner, 18, of Mitchell, was arrested for burglary, stealing a 2012 Ford F150, and stealing two 12-gauge shotguns, a .410 shotgun, money and other items. A fourth suspect, Juanita Rose McKeen, 24, of Mitchell, was also arrested and charged with stealing a .40 caliber handgun from a Mitchell motel room.
