Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.
Russell L. Fouberg was born at home in Forestburg on April 15, 1921, to Robert and Lena (Johnson) Fouberg. He attended school in Forestbug. He took great pleasure in raising livestock with a quiet voice and a gentle hand. Russell was a lifelong member of the Forestburg Lutheran Church, where he and Vera served as Luther League advisers. He was also a lifelong member of the Letcher American Legion.
Russell is survived by a stepson, Ron (Kathye) Fouberg of Letcher; stepdaughter, Sharon McGovern of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Roxane Fouberg of Sioux Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera; three brothers, Harold, Omer and Maynard; one sister, Theone; and son-in-law, Timothy McGovern.
