The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Winterguard team traveled to the Minneapolis area on Feb. 11 for two competitions in the North Star Circuit.
The SC/W Winterguard team performed their routine “Insideous Desires” to the song “The Devil Within” by Digital Daggers. The team has eight minutes to set up with floor mat and equipment, perform their four minute show, and clear the floor of all equipment.
The team placed first in Scholastic Regional A division, with a score of 48.13 in the Eclipse Show in St. Cloud. They later scored 51.50 for a first place finish in the Scholastic Regional A division at the second competition at the Colors on the Rapids show in Sauk Rapids.
The team is led by Mr. Brett Kroeger, Senior Captain Breanne Brandenburg and Junior Captain Renee Farmer. Team members are Adriana Salas, Josie Weber, Brooklyn Swenson, Jasmine White, Destiny Moe, Chloe Degen and Juliet Yeoman.
The Blackhawks Winterguard team will be performing on Friday, Feb. 24, at Sanborn Central during halftime of the boys basketball game. Also, the team has been chosen to perform at the State B Girl’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 9, in Huron, at halftime of the 7:45 p.m. session.
Their next competition is Saturday, March 11, with shows at Champlin Park High School and Henry Sibley High School, both in the Minneapolis area.
