Woonsocket American Legion Auxiliary Post 29 has selected two students to attend the 72nd session of Girls State. Delegates are Erica Howard and Sarah Baysinger. Girls State will be held May 28 – June 2 on the USD campus in Vermillion.

The purpose of Girls State is to help young women understand and appreciate the American form of government, which includes learning about their rights, privileges, and responsibilities of citizenship.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a three-credit course entitled POLS 210: State and Local Government for college credit.
