MASON MOODY proudly displays one of the buckles he won at the National Junior Rodeo Finals.

Last week, Mason Moody competed at the National Junior High Rodeo Finals in Huron. He competed in bareback riding, goat tying, and bull riding. With this year’s finals taking place in Huron, Mason could finally have a large hometown following to show their support for him in person.

He ended the 2018 finals and his junior high career with a top 15 placing in all three of his events. He finished 14th in bareback riding, and he earned third place in the nation in goat tying, in which he posted his best time for the week, and the third fastest time of all performances. 

In bull riding, he came home with eighth place, and he had the second highest score of all performances. 

For his efforts, Moody earned four buckles, scholarship money and the right to be incredibly proud of his accomplishments.
