Senior Rylie Stevens works to get in the right position to control his match while competing in a consolation round during the state wrestling tournament that took place last weekend.

In its first year as a wrestling co-op, the WSWWW wrestling team had a good finish to a great season. The WSWWW team placed in the top five teams in each tournament they competed in during the regular season. They ended up taking five wrestlers to compete at the state tournament this past weekend, which is the most who have advanced to that level in a few years. The team ended the season with two wrestlers placing at the state tournament: eighth grader Keegan Haider placed fourth at 113 pounds, and his brother, senior Tate Haider placed second in the 138-pound weight class. 

There is a lot of potential and ability in the young wrestlers who will be competing for the WSWWW wrestling team next year, so the current co-op will just continue to improve on its initial year’s success.
