4-H

The Town ‘N Kountry Kids Red Crew 4-H Club met on Nov. 12 at the 4-H Building in Forestburg. Prior to the meeting, members wrote letters and cards to their elderly friends, and prepared for celebrating American Education Week.
The meeting was called to order by Vice President Xavier Baysinger. The flag pledge was led by London Metzger, and the 4-H pledge was led by Braxton Gentles. Roll call was led by Shaun Snedeker with the question, “What Are You Thankful For?” and answered by 22 members.
The secretary’s report was read by Spens Schlicht, and Xavier gave the treasurer’s report.
Lane Burkel gave a report on barrel setting. Henry Hunter and Nick Snedeker told about fun had at Skyzone, and Sutton Senska reported on the Discovery Center.  A Stuff the Turkey update report was given by Hope Baysinger and Bailey Feistner.
Under Old Business, the club talked about getting online enrollment done.  They reviewed plans for American Education Week: giving the teachers and staff a root beer with “Thank you for helping grow the roots of our knowledge” and chocolate kisses with “Keep calm and eat chocolate.”  They also provided brownies and bars in the staff breakrooms.
Under New Business, the club talked about a Christmas Caring project.  It was decided to give goodie trays to medical field personnel. Each family needs to bring two dozen cookies or Christmas goodies to the December meeting.
Setting barrels over Memorial Day weekend was discussed and will be worked on, determining which days could be covered.
The next meeting is Dec. 4 at the Woonsocket Community Center.
Following the meeting, club members attended 4-H Recognition Event.
