Timothy Tingle

Mitchell

Tim Tingle, 60, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Firesteel Health Care in Mitchell.

Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 3, at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Tim was born Jan. 29, 1959, in Tacoma, Wash., the son of Ron and Elaine (VanWalleghen) Tingle. He attended school in Letcher. He graduated in 1978 from Letcher High School. He stayed in Letcher and helped around his aunt and uncle’s farm. In the early 1980s, he moved to Brookings. In 2007, he moved to Mitchell.

He enjoyed joking around with everyone, music, playing the guitar, going out for coffee with his friends and talking on his CB. He loved animals and listening to his scanner.

Tim is survived by his brother, Merlin (Ellen) Tingle of Mitchell; sister, Michele (Bryan) Elbers of Brookings; three brothers, Mike (Nancy) Tingle of Mt. Vernon, Kevin Tingle of Arlington and Pat (Angie) Tingle of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ron; his mother, Elaine; brother, Danny; his grandparents; and uncles and aunts.

Vicki Belle (Meyer) Harris, 73, of Wessington Springs, formerly of Huron, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at Weskota Manor in Wessington Springs. Memorial funeral ceremony will be he held at St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, Woonsocket, on Friday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitiations will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Basham Funeral Home, Woonsocket, from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Albert Orth

Huron

Albert Orth, 95, of Huron and formerly of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at Avantara Huron (formerly SunQuest Healthcare Center) in Huron.

His funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 28, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery in Alpena. Visitation with family present was held Sunday, Oct. 27, at Welter Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.

Albert Raymond Orth was born on Jan. 26, 1924, to parents Gustav and Johanna (Edelman) Orth on the farm he lived his life on. He was the youngest of four children. He joined his two sisters and one brother. He grew up and attended Orth Country School and Alpena High School.

Albert married Luella Ammon on Dec. 9, 1945. They lived on the farm their entire married life. Albert was on the township board for several years, a 4-H leader, and on the church board for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs. He enjoyed visiting with people, collecting and restoring John Deere tractors and machinery. One of his greatest joys was his 1924 Model T, which was bought by his parents the year he was born.

Albert is survived by his children, Gary (Kathy) Orth and Bruce Orth of Alpena, and Nancy (Dean) Slostad of Watertown; six grandchildren including Jodi (Gerrad) Doering of Woonsocket, Gerry (Kim) Orth and Traci (Ryder) Schweitzer of Alpena; nine great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; his wife, Luella; daughter, Linda; his brothers, sisters and their spouses.
