Swenson Produce, Woonsocket, recently donated over 120 pumpkins to Wessington Springs sixth through 12th grade students for a special pumpkin decorating contest and local cancer fundraiser to be held during “Dig Pink Night” on Oct. 22 during the Wessington Springs vs. Hitchcock-Tulare volleyball game.
The Springs Health Education Team is coordinating the event and two of the Team’s members, Marla and Holly Feistner helped load the truck full of pumpkins to bring to the students.
All entries pay just $5 each to enter a pumpkin into one of the three categories: businesses/organizations, adult individuals and sixth-12th grade students. The community is welcome to enter a pumpkin(s) for a chance to showcase creativity, win great prizes and support Weskota Foundation’s Cancer Fund.
