Last Monday, the Woonsocket-Wessington Springs 13-14 teener baseball team hosted Gregory for a double header.
In game one, Trey Weber took the mound for WWS.  He was able to hold Gregory to just two runs on five hits and he struck out three.
Meanwhile, the offense was able to score three runs and earn Trey his second victory of the season. Wyatt Feistner delivered the game winning hit in the fifth. Drew Olinger had the only other hit for the WWS teeners.
Game two saw the WWS teeners lose 20-0.  “As good as we played the first game, we played that bad the second.  We need to work on playing more consistently,” stated coach Nathan Hainy. Wyatt Feistner, Clayton Dornbush, Gunnar Brandenburg and Noah Hainy all took turns pitching. Feistner had the only hit for the WWS teeners.
The teeners then traveled to Chamberlain for a single seven-inning game on Friday night.  Clayton Dornbush got the start for the teeners. He pitched well, but the defense didn’t provide much support and led to a 18-5 loss for the boys. John Witte finished the game on the mound for the WWS team.
Noah Hainy, Wyatt Feistner and Drew Olinger each had two hits for the offense. Trey Weber and John Witte each added one hit as well.
The teeners will next be in action at the regional tournament. The tournament will be held in White Lake and the boys will play at 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
