Beryle Evelyn “Tillie” Evans Baysinger was born March 30, 1924 to Arthur David and Fairy Alice (Almond) Evans near St. Lawrence, the fourth of eight children.
She grew up on the family farm south of St. Lawrence and was educated in the rural school systems there. She grew up a hard worker, helping with her younger siblings and farm chores and later as a young teenager, she went to work for neighboring farmers shocking grain. Thus she was given the nickname Tillie by her father after the cartoon character, “Tillie the Toiler”!
As a young adult she moved to Huron and lived for awhile with her sister, Helen. At that time she became employed by Armour’s Packing Plant and worked there for several years. It was while living there she met and married Oscar (Ole) Weston. To this union was born two daughters, Cheryl Anna (Craig) Eiereman and Nancy K. (Larry) Ames.
In 1950 she was united in marriage to Melvin E. Baysinger of Forestburg. To this union was born three sons, Arnold Gene, James D. and Thomas Lee. Her work ethics continued during this time as she raised her family and helped her husband with the “famous” Forestburg melon business! Early morning would find her out hoeing the melons before it got too hot, then coming in and taking care of her house and children.
Tillie was a meticulous housekeeper and good cook She was content with the simple things of life and happy to stay in her little corner of the world – Forestburg!
Later down the road, life took a tragic turn for her with the death of her husband in 2001 to Parkinson’s disease, followed by the passing of her oldest son, Arne in 2003 at the age of 52, her oldest daughter, Cheryl to  breast cancer in 2004 at 59, and finally her youngest son, Tom to a massive heart attack in 2006 at the age of 45. This final loss of her youngest son was too much for her and as a way to protect herself from the intense pain of loss, her brain began to shut down and dementia began to set in.
In 2006 she moved to an apartment at Huron and in 2009 she moved to SunQuest Health Care Center where the disease took over and resulted in her death.
She is survived by one son, Jim, of Forestburg; one daughter, Nancy Ames of Miller; one daughter-in-law, Penni Baysinger of Huron; one brother, Howard Evans, of Miller; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; four sisters; two sons and one daughter.
