     The Woonsocket Majors and Minors baseball teams enjoyed a scrimmage game last week, playing against each other, as their regular season comes to an end and they prepare for tournament play on July 12 and 14.

The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Lindy Peterson at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 with the following members present: Richard Reider, Richard Regynksi, John Ames, Don Schmidt, Brandon Goergen and Jim Steichen.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Schmidt, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Regynski, seconded by Ames, to approve the May 6, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Steichen, to approve the June 3, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Schmidt, to approve the June 13, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Regynski, to approve the June 17, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Goergen, to approve the May Financial Statement. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS
Council discussed the dock. Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Ames, to approve $300.00 for the concrete work. Motion carried.
Employee Evaluation – Tabled.
Council discussed the cemetery road, holes have been patched.
Council discussed the pool. The City would like to thank Sarah Jensen and Steve Tiede for getting the pool ready for the Fourth of July after the storms that came through.
Council discussed the old watertower.
Council talked about the snow routes and truck routes.
Council discussed the water rates, water meters and trailer houses. A new ordinance will be written.
Council discussed the dumpground. An inspection was done and we were within compliance of our permit.
Council discussed Ordinance 93-19 Relating to the Licensing of Dogs and Cats Within the City of Woonsocket. Motion by Regynski, seconded by Steichen, on the first reading of amending the ordinance to add a section pertaining to Vicious or Diseased Animals. Motion carried.
Council discussed a street sweeper. Tabled.
Council discussed park benches/tables for the lake.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Ames, to enter into Executive Session at 8:15 p.m. to discuss contractual matters. Motion carried.
Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Ames, to exit Executive Session at 8:27 p.m. and re-enter the regular meeting. Motion carried.
Council discussed streets.
NEW BUSINESS
Council discussed vacating 11th Street between Block 95 and 96. A petition will be presented next month.
Council discussed having a port-a-potty at the campgrounds during the summer months.
Council discussed city owned lots. A list will be presented next month.
Council discussed storm drains in town.
With no further business to be discussed. Motion by Reider, seconded by Schmidt, to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 9:08 p.m.

The Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding.  Other members present were: P. Larson, Blindauer, Ohlrogge and S. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to approve the minutes as presented.  Motion carried.
HIGHWAY/WEED BOARD
Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, met with the board. There was no business for the weed board. The board regretfully accepts the resignation of Steven King from the Highway Department and wishes him the best. Goergen will advertise for the position.
DITCH 14
Mark Snedeker and Doyle Estabrook joined the meeting at 9:45 a.m. Much discussion was held on Ditch 14. More research will be done.
BUS
Jessica Pickett, Palace Transit, met with the board to present the contract for the agreement with Palace Transit, which was voted on at the June 4th meeting. Jessica clarified what will be required of Sanborn County.
DITCH 21
Darren Swenson and Dale Swenson met with the board to present a request for work on Ditch 21. The board asked them to return to the next meeting with an estimate of the amount of money required for the work.
PLATS
Mark Meyer, Director of Equalization, presented a plat for Jon Kalb. The plat reads Kalb Tract 1 in NW/4 28-106-62. The tract consists of 107.33 acres and is being platted to be sold. By recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board, motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by P. Larson, to approve the plat. Motion carried.
