Sept. 24 at 4:50 p.m. Amberiah Smith, 16, of Woonsocket turned east off Dumont Ave. onto Hwy. 34 in Woonsocket, colliding with Aleesha DeKnikker, 25, of Salem, who was traveling west. There was an estimated $4,250 damage to Smith’s 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and $3,400 damage to DeKnikker’s 2012 Chevy Malibu. DeKnikker sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the collision and was transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Smith was given a citation for failure to stop at stop sign/failure to yield after stop.
On Oct. 3 at 7:20 p.m. Michelle Wormstadt, 42, of Artesian hit a deer on 413th Ave. north of 230th St. There was around $4,300 damage to her 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. No injuries.
Oct. 11 at 6:30 a.m. Rodney Moser, 44, of Stickney hit a racoon on 397th Ave., near 242nd St. causing an estimated $2,000 damage to his 2008 Chevy Aveo. No injuries.
Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., Shane Hokanson, 19, of Huron hit a deer on 395th Ave. just south of 223rd St. There was an estimated $1,000 damage to his 1993 Chevy CK109 pickup. No injuries.
On Oct. 12 at 8 p.m., Bryan Lutter, 41, of Woonsocket hit a deer on Twin Lakes Road, swerved into the ditch, over-corrected, swerved into the other steep ditch and rolled over. Damage to the 2013 Chevy Silverado was estimated at around $30,000. No injuries.

The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central football team improved their record to 4-2 with a 46-0 win over Highmore-Harrold Friday night at Wessington Springs.
The Blackhawks scored on their first drive with a five-yard run by Austin Messmer. On the next possession, Jevon Hohn ran from 13 yards out for a touchdown making the score 16-0.
After a turnover, Landon Ochsner scored the third touchdown of the first quarter on a 25-yard run. The Blackhawks added a fourth score in the opening quarter on another five-yard touchdown run by Austin Messmer.
Early in the second quarter, Austin Messmer scored again on a 27-yard run to bring the score to 38-0, which is where it stood at halftime.
On the first play of the second half, Messmer scored his fourth touchdown on a 57-yard run to make the score 46-0.
Austin Messmer ran for a total of 139 yards on nine carries and had four touchdowns. The Blackhawks ran for 332 total yards in the game. Jacob Fouberg led the defense with seven tackles.
The Blackhawks will play Corsica/Stickney Friday, Oct. 18 at Stickney.

Marissa Weber recorded five aces, 10 kills and 12 digs to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a 3-0 win over Sunshine Bible Academy in volleyball action Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Forestburg.
Set scores were 25-19, 25-14 and 26-24.
Morgan Selland had 10 kills and nine digs, while Rachel Selland added 20 assists for the win.
The Blackhawks (12-6) also won the junior varisty match.
