Linda Small

Alpena

Linda Small, 56, of Alpena, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral service was Friday, Dec. 27 at the Alpena Community Center with the Rev. Derek Baum officiating.  Burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Alpena.  Visitation was Thursday at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Linda Lou Lambert was born on March 21, 1957, in Huron, to Richard and Martha (Diede) Lambert. She lived in Alpena her entire life. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1975.
On Jan. 5, 1974, she married Robert “Bob” Small in Huron.
She was employed as a purchasing agent at Van Dyke’s for more than 20 years. She then worked as a purchasing agent for Huron Regional Medical Center for one year. She was then employed as a receptionist at Paramount Bookkeeping Associates.
She enjoyed camping and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Bob Small of Alpena; one daughter, Stacy (Shane) Machtemes of Faulkton; two sons, Jon (Sarah) Small of Brandon and Cody (Jaclyn) Small of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; her mother, Martha Lambert of Alpena; and several aunts and uncles.

Bonnie Wudel

Lennox

Bonnie Wudel, 56, Lennox, died peacefully at home, Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 following a courageous 13-year battle with cancer.
Memorial services were Monday, Dec. 30 at St. Magdalen’s Catholic Church, Lennox. Visitation was one hour prior to the service  at the church. Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Wudel was born in 1957 and grew up at Artesian, graduating from Artesian High School in 1975. She graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1979 and worked as an office manager in various dental offices.
In 1980 she married Douglas Wudel. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, Gillette, Wyo. and Lennox.
Bonnie belonged to several motorcycle clubs and was a gourmet cook.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Wudel, Lennox; sons, John Wudel and Steven Wudel, both of Lennox; her parents Donald and Agatha Ebersdorfer, Artesian; siblings, Connie (Rod) Vermeulen, Mitchell, Jeff (Molly) Ebersdorfer, Artesian, and Jodi (Keith) Theisen, Clear Lake; and godmother, Jan Ebersdorfer, Mitchell.

Albina Justra

Stickney

Albina Justra, 102, Stickney, formerly of Letcher, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Stickney. Burial was in the Butler Cemetery at rural Letcher. Visitation was Thursday with a scripture service at the church in Stickney. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
She was born Oct. 28, 1911 on the farm of her parents, Frank and Lydia (Sobek) Swoboda near the Bijou Hills.  She attended country school and helped on her father’s farm near Kimball until her marriage to Charles Justra on Feb. 21, 1938. They moved to a farm near Letcher where they farmed until Charles’ death in 1969. In 1980 she moved to Stickney to be near her family. She moved to Avera Bormann Manor in April 2012.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Ray Prien, Stickney;  five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren;  sister, Virginia Stadler; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Eleanor Prien; and three sisters, Helen Swoboda, Loretta Stadler and Delma Swoboda.
