Blackhawk boys suffer tough loss to No. 3 team

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket held on tight throughout three quarters, but were unable to seal the deal in the fourth, as they fell to No. 3-rated Canistota Saturday in the Hanson Classic in Mitchell.
Though tied up at 36 going into the half and just two points down after three, the Canistota Hawks pulled out a 10-point, 71-61, win over the formerly No. 4 SCW team.
Dillon Moore led the Blackhawks in scoring with 18. Tucker Kingsbury recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Brady Tiede added on 10 rebounds and eight points.
SCW shot 49 percent from the floor and committed 25 turnovers.
Canistota (11-1) shot 62 percent from the field and was led by Shay Jolley’s 27 points.
The Blackhawks wind up a tough and busy week of basketball with an 8-3 record.
