Elaine E. Koerner King, 86, of Belle Fourche, passed away April 13, 2016.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron.  Burial of her cremains will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at Alpena.
Elaine was born to Walter and Marie (Dethlefs) Sheffield in Alpena on June 26, 1929.
She attended country schools around Alpena and Wessington Springs.  She graduated from Wessington Springs High School.
On Feb. 27, 1949, she married Harold Koerner of Alpena, and they lived on the farm north of Alpena. To this union three children were born: Lucinda, Lydell and Lisa.  After Harold’s death, she later married Willis King.
She is survived by her three children, Lucinda (Donald) Ditmeyer of Mill Creek, Wash., Lydell (Kathy) Koerner of Belle Fourche, and Lisa (James) Valentine of Schertz, Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Beverly Johnson and Linda Kowalski; the Willis King family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold Koerner and Willis King; three brothers, LuVerne, Keith and Dean; her sister, Lorraine Drake; and a granddaughter-in-law.
Arrangements were announced by Basham Funeral Service of Wessington Springs.
