Any voter who can’t mark a ballot because the voter has a physical disability or can’t read, may ask any person he or she chooses to help the voter vote.
Any voter may ask for instruction in the proper procedure for voting.
Any voter at the polling place prior to 7:00 p.m. is allowed to cast a ballot.
If your voting rights have been violated, you may call the person in charge of the election at 605-796-4513, the Secretary of State at 888-703-5328, or your state’s attorney.
Any person who is convicted of a felony on or after July 1, 2012, loses the right to vote. However, any such person may register to vote following the completion of the person’s felony sentence.
Any person who is convicted of a felony on or before June 30, 2012, and who receives a sentence of imprisonment to the adult penitentiary system, including a suspended execution of sentence, loses the right to vote. Any such person so sentenced may register to vote following completion of the person’s sentence. Further information is available at www.sdsos.gov.
ELECTION CRIMES
Anyone who makes a false statement when voting, tries to vote knowing he or she is not a qualified voter, or tries to vote more than once has committed an election crime.

Mayor Chada called the meeting to order with Hoffman, Knutson, and Meier in attendance. Carla Amick also met with the board.
A motion was made by Hoffman, seconded by Knutson, carried, to approve the April 18th, 2016 minutes as read.
A motion was made by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve the financials as presented.
Old Business: The security camera system for the community center/fire hall has been put on hold for now.
New Business: Discussion was held on scheduling a meeting with SPN to go over the lagoon project.  Mark was going to be scheduling that meeting.
A motion was made by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve the sealed bids for the JD Z234 mower and the 10×12 white storage shed. The lawnmower went to Aaron Olson for $550.00 and the white storage shed went to Doug Hohbach for $250.00.
Discussion was held about the concession area at the ballpark.
A motion was made by Knutson, seconded by Hoffman, carried, to approve to hire Ed Hoffman and Mark Chada to spray the town for mosquitos at $80.00 each time with no mileage.

PIERRE – Sobriety checkpoints will be held statewide during the month of June by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
Checkpoints are planned for 18 counties.  The Highway Patrol conducts the checkpoints as a way to discourage motorists from drinking and then driving.
Counties scheduled for checkpoints in June are: Brown, Brule, Butte, Codington, Custer, Edmunds, Day, Davison, Hamlin, Hughes, Lake, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Roberts, Pennington, Sanborn, Spink and Yankton.
