Ron Ruml was honored for his 75th birthday at a party hosted by his family at the Holiday Inn Express in Mitchell. A supper was served, and the evening was spent visiting with the kids all swimming and playing.
Those present were: Ron and Sandi Ruml, Stacy Ruml, Curtis and Sara Adams, Chloe, Miley, Kaylee and Whitney, all of Letcher; Shanna and Tim Moke, Camden, Olivia and Brielle of Dell Rapids; Shawn, Kelsey and Lauren Ruml of Mitchell; Steven and Liz Ruml, Haley Ruml and Caleb Horn, of Sioux Falls; Ken and Connie Ruml, Lee and Ashley Ruml, Khloe and Savannah, Dawn and Jon Mentele, Taryn, Nolan, Harper, Paige, Gracyn and Lylah, and Emily and Larry Martian, Elizabeth, Natalie, Gabriel, Madalyn and Quinton, all of Howard; Gerald and Sandy Moke of Ethan; Irene Moke, Kim and Dana Price, Mary Ann Hetland, Tim Friederich, Sheila Bauer and Wayne, Barb and Collin Gronseth, all of Mitchell; Jenny Miles, Avery, Raegen and Carson of Doland; Wes and Sherry Stekl of Letcher; Vern and Loretta Kraft of Delmont; and Joe Olsonof Bismark, N.D.

The Letcher American Legion Auxiliary meeting was called to order by President Sandi Ruml at 8 p.m. on April 11.
Chaplain Pat Nelson led the prayer. Roll call was answered by four members: Sandi Ruml, Pat Nelson, Edith Moe and Kathy Northrup.
Minutes were read and approved, as was the treasurer’s report.
A new date for the Auxiliary Salad Luncheon/Silent Auction was set for June 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Discussion was held about the amount of rolls to order for Memorial Day.
Poppy wreaths will be made prior to the next meeting starting at 6 p.m., May 9. Members are encouraged to attend and help out.
As there was no more business, the meeting was adjourned.

The meeting was called to order by President Karen Klinkner. Members present included Kaci Bechen, Karen Klinkner, Laura Pearson, Carol Hendrix, Joan Gaston and Dee Bechen. Kaci Bechen read the secretary’s report, and Dee Bechen presented the treasurer’s report. Both reports were approved.
Karen read the newsletter from the District President and talked about the upcoming District meeting April 16 in Wessington Springs. Karen and Laura plan to attend and will report at the next meeting. Members also discussed Girls State Registration and recruiting new members. Five grave markers will be ordered to identify members that have passed. A Memorial Day program will be Monday, May 30, at 1:30 p.m.
