A 47-year-old man was found dead Saturday morning near his parents’ home southwest of Letcher following Friday’s blizzard.
Brice Cody went missing from the home of his mother and step-father, Janice and Bill Cronk, around midnight. Authorities began searching around 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Cody’s body was found in some trees near the residence.
Cody’s obituary states, “he was a strong educator on the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, even though he struggled with doctor prescribed medications, causing him to be succumbed to his death in a snow storm.”
The Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office, Letcher Fire Department and Mitchell Search and Rescue aided in the search.
According to his obituary, Cody leaves two children.
