WE WOKE up to a winter wonderland on the first Monday of 2016. After heavy fog from the day before cleared, a thick layer of glistening frost was left decorating the world and nearly making one forget the freezing cold that came with it.
The temperatures this week didn’t fluctuate much and were quite mild with a daytime high of 30º on New Year’s Day and a low of 19º on Monday. The low nighttime for the week was 5º on Sunday. We experienced some heavy fog in the area on Sunday and Sunday night resulting in a beautiful frosty landscape on Monday morning.
Precipitation for the week recorded at the Extension Office was only 0.01 of an inch.
