Arthur. W. Larson, 91, of Woonsocket, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Prairie View Healthcare Community in Woonsocket.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 20, at St. Wilfrid Catholic Church in Woonsocket, with Rev. Rhonda Wellsandt-Zell officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery at Woonsocket. Visitation with family members present was from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Basham Funeral Home in Woonsocket.
Arthur William Larson was born Sept. 8, 1925, at home to Edward and Fredrica (Kruse) Larson. He attended country school while growing up.
He married Leona “Babe” Forbes on Nov. 25, 1944, and to this union seven children were born. Art and Babe worked their farm for 60 years together, raising cattle and alfalfa. Art semi-retired to raising just alfalfa in 2004, until he and Babe moved to Woonsocket in 2007. He loved hunting and fishing with family.
Art was baptized April 8, 1960, by Rev. Duane Shay in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woonsocket,  and was a member thereafter.
Art is survived by his wife, Leona “Babe” of Woonsocket; four sons, Robert (April) Larson of Woonsocket, Jerry (Sharon) Larson of Shawmut, Mont., Alan Larson of Woonsocket, and Daniel (Jannet) Larson of Woonsocket; one daughter, Linda (Randy) Verba of Woonsocket; daughter-in-law, Sue Larson of Woonsocket; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; two sisters, Amanda Schultz of Woonsocket, and Alma (Carl) Fielder of Nebraska; and one brother, Aleck Larson of Woonsocket.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Marion and Marvin Larson; one grandson, Troy Larson; four sisters and eight brothers.
