Central Electric Cooperative awards Washington trip to six students

BechenCatherine web 34    Central Electric Cooperative is sponsoring six local students to attend the National Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. this June.
This year’s recipients are: Catherine Bechen of Letcher, daughter of John and Gayle Bechen; Olivia Hanten of White Lake, daughter of Lisa Hanten; Hunter Gregory of Kimball, son of Nicole Gillen; Madison Hetland of Mitchell, daughter of Paul and Deanna Hetland; Ashley Henglefelt of Alexandria, daughter of Don and Jody Henglefelt; and Jessica Burghardt of Fedora, daughter of Steve Burghardt and Trina Runner.
South Dakota students will team up with more than 1,400 students from across the country for Youth Tour. They will tour Washington, DC, meet with their state’s representatives, and learn firsthand how to be involved in politics, community development and today’s social issues.
