Kempfs compete at the National Senior Games

The National Senior Games are held every other year in cities across America.This year over 10,000 senior athletes competed in 19 different sports in Birmingham, Ala.  Competition takes place in five year increments, starting at age 50-54. Contestants have to qualify at their state games in order to compete at the national meet. This year, 60 SD athletes competed at the nationals. John Zilverberg of Highmore was the oldest athlete at age 103.
In each age category and event, medals were awarded for first, second and third places, and ribbons were given for fourth through eighth place.
