The SCW girls breezed to a 60-31 victory over Wolsey-Wessington to take their sixth consecutive District 6B championship at the Huron Arena Thursday night. The Blackhawks were ahead by 20 points at the end of the first break, and only allowed the Warbirds to add five points in the second quarter.
The Blackhawks had four players in double figures, including Abby Doering and Myah Selland each with 12 points, and Kayla Olson and Megan Poyer with 11 and 10, respectively. Selland also had six rebounds and four steals.
Kailen Krause had 12 points for Wolsey-Wessington.
SCW shot 23 of 50 for 46 percent from the field, while the Warbirds hit 31 percent.
With the win, the Lady Blackhawks (21-1) were headed to the Region 3B championship game, where they will face DeSmet (18-3) on Friday, March 3, at 7 p.m. in Madison and a chance at another trip to the Class B tournament.
