Myah Selland was presented with the “Spirit of Su” award during halftime of the girls State “B” Tournament championship game, in which Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was in the midst of a battle against defending champ Sully Buttes for the title.
The award is based on all-around athletic ability offensively and defensively, sportsmanship, leadership, character and academic ability.
Selland maintains a 4.09 GPA and is involved in a number of extracurricular activities, including band, chorus, National Honor Society and student council. She is also active in her community, plays volleyball and runs track. She has a career total 2,218 points and 962 rebounds, and her senior season averaged 19.9 points, 8.12 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 3.7 steals and 2.8 blocks per game.
