Myah Selland, senior at Sanborn Central High School, was selected as MaxPreps/WBCA Player of the Week for Region 5 for the week of Jan. 15.
Selland tied her career high with 40-points and had 15-rebounds Saturday, Jan. 14, in a comeback win over defending Nebraska State Champions Crofton, Neb. She then proceeded to score 52 more points that week to lead her team to the 281 Championship.
Selland’s seven day tally through the 281 Tournament and the weekend Classic was an unheard of 102 points in four games.
The MaxPreps Region 5 consists of the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Dakota and South Dakota. The award is chosen by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Selland and all the Players of the Week are recognized on the largest high school sports website in the country, Maxpreps.com and on WBCA.org.
