Pierre – Weston Baysinger and Sarah Morgan, students from Sanborn Central High School, won third place in the 27th Annual Business Plan Competition for high school students.
The competition is co-sponsored by the South Dakota Bankers Foundation and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The concept behind the Business Plan Competition is to take an idea for a business that could be started by a student and transfer it into a business plan.
The finalists, parents and advisors were invited to attend the South Dakota Bankers Association’s annual legislative reception on Feb. 8 to receive awards from Governor Dennis Daugaard in recognition of their entrepreneurial efforts.
First-place winner was Sierra Ward, of Belle Fourche High School.
Shantell Brewer, of Dupree, received second place.
Weston Baysinger and Sarah Morgan received third place and an iPad as a prize.
